about

This is a live recording from a practice we had just before performing this song for the first & only time at Philadelphia's Puppy Doe Vigil for animal rights.

Robyn was asked to perform "Tiny Anthem", & we ended up also writing this song inspired by the event. The melody is an adaptation of a song written by Eric Manganaro in 2007 called "Banjo Suite". Eric & Robyn put this song together, & a large group of friends learned it for the vigil.

We want to share it with you & have it available for people who attended the vigil & saw us perform.

lyrics

We live in a world of best laid plans
Rhyme & reason & magic combined to fill the land
Our story is new, pages & pages, consume & demand
Billions of animals destroying what we don't understand
//
We've evolved to carry the weight
We've been born to balance
Illness stems from forgetting to play
Fulfillment comes from learning the way
Learning the way
Learning the way
//
Imagine a world without fur or flowers
Imperfect perfection replaced by steel & towers
Turn off the news so you can choose intuitive power
The creatures we've made deserve more than hate & cages & cowering in fear
// //
Learning the way
Don't forget to play
Learning the way
Care for this weight
Learning the way
Find balance every day
Learning the way
We're here to stay
